I really liked that it felt more like a survival game than plain old Far Cry game, and also the story, the different factions/societies, were quite interesting too. It was definitely pretty unusual. I highly enjoyed it. I still think FC4 is the best in the series, but Primal definitely deserves a special mention, and it is heavily overlooked. Not just that but it's a relatively recent theory that they are not tigers at all but large marsupials. They're not tigers, the correct name is saber-toothed cat. There weren't yaks either, and European jaguars were larger than modern ones (which are larger than leopards), and wooly mammoths weren't like 15 feet tall. 4 had an amazing villain that drives the story, which primal lacks. 4 also had a personal story, which primal lacks. 4 had great characters in its story, which primal lacks. For discussion of the Far Cry Game Series. This is my favourite Far Cry game and is absolutely stunning. It was over too quick for me the first time as I rushed through the missions; don’t do that. Also get the bomb drop perk (can’t remember exactly what it’s called) early, it’s incredibly useful. And that's a GOOOD thing. Go play the old game if you want old. Go play the new thing if you want new. Playing FC5 is not illegal lol. It is an improvement over the original based on feedback from the gaming community. You do lose some skills in Survival Mode, but the overall game is more balanced and more challenging. Personally having played the game in both modes, I would recommend it. Mostly because it has no guns. It's fun but far different than any other entry in the FC line. It's not far different. Everything about it is typical FC except the weapons, and that's not enough to make it far different. I don't think the lack of guns plays as big of a part in why people dislike the game.
