Need for Speed has gone through phases. After the sort of drift city games, they tried to phase into a simcade circuit racer. NFS Shift 1 and 2 failed so bad that it convinced its developer, Slightly Mad Studios, to make Project CARS out of revenge. Then Burnout Paradise was a massive success, so they gave Need for Speed to Criterion.
r/needforspeed. Join. • 20 days ago. May I introduce you all to the first ever Need For Speed video uploaded to YouTube. Uploaded September 21st, 2005, it's simply titled "speed" and predates even Most Wanted's release date by two months. Underground 2 was still the newest NFS title. 528. 54. r/needforspeed.
I think Midnight Club has a higher average quality in its releases. Also I think Midnight Club more closely suits what the Underground crowd wants NFS to be. And a new Midnight Club would actually be a surprise, whereas I fully expect there will be another NFS, so a MC announcement would get me more interested. Idea: GTA V, LA Noire, Midnight
Gameplay wise it's pretty much apples and oranges. Both are "arcadey" type games, but NFSU tries to be slightly more realistic, whereas Midnight Club has physics that are all it's own. But they are similar, and to me it comes down to car. In NFSU i'm stuck with mostly shitty imports.
1 Need For Speed: Underground 2. The career mode is the high-point of Need For Speed Underground 2, but the online and local multiplayer weren’t bad either. The game has the most customization of any Need For Speed game, and it’s why it’s considered the best Need For Speed game of all time.
The problem isn’t the love for them, the problem is the overall pretentious attitude of the MW05 fanboys, who wants to compare every single NFS game that gets newly released, to MW05, and that the game needs a remaster (which is never going to happen) because every other NFS game sucks, because it’s not as good as 05.

1 Need For Speed: Underground 2. Another Need for Speed game makes its way on the list in the form of Underground 2. This game was the first Need for Speed title to incorporate an open world and
The 1999 MX-5 appears in Need for Speed: Underground. As a lightweight rear-wheel drive roadster, it is one of the most competitive cars with outstanding handling and quick acceleration, but has a lacking top speed. The stock MX-5 is unlocked from the beginning of and is priced at 9,500 Bank.
"NFS Prostreet - version 1.2" - I wasn't aware of a version 1.2. There is a 1.1 patch that added some content, but won't work with analog joysticks or analog wheels that use "8 bit" steering output, versus a Momo type wheel that uses "10 bit" output. The 1.1 patch only supports "10 bit" steering output.
Unless a player played online, knew about the world record sites, or asked about the relative car performance at a forum like this one, a player wouldn't know which cars are best for each of the NFS games.
