New here, I recently sold my XJ to buy a ZJ. Found a mint 96 5.2 Limited for a great price. Ive had it about a month now and it has developed a rough idle. It clears up around 1500RPM. The idle is very rough and the whole rig shakes. that weekend I pulled the injectors, bench cleaned them and re-installed them in a random order. same rough idle.

First PCM-. engine would start and run, but would die out after about 5-10min and the check engine light would go through the self check as if the ecu had been reset. so, reading posts, i figured the ecu was the most likely culprit and replaced it. The only readings coming off the self diagnostic was 12 and 55, so nothing abnormal.

My 42RE gave up the ghost and rather than spend the cash on a new trans im going to swap a V8 motor and trans in. With that said, what exactly is involved?

what is the best fuel pump brand. I've got a question wich fuel pump brand is best for my 98 jeep grand cherokee 4.0.some say Bosh and some say delphi.most how ever say never airtex. There are only minor differences. It all depends on having the correct accessories to make the swap work. I swapped the wheezing '94 4.0L in my ZJ out for a low mileage 4.0L out of a mashed '97 XJ. The ONLY major difference once the accessories were removed was the '97 long block lacked a hole for the temp gauge sensor.
